RuneCode

Terms of service

Effective 1 November 2026 · Last updated 1 November 2026

These terms govern your use of RuneCode Studio ("the Service"), operated by Wizards ("we", "us"). By signing in or using a test link you agree to them. If you use the Service for a publisher, you also confirm you may act for it.

1. The Service

The Service lets game studios upload games, test them with play money, share test links and submit versions for certification. It is a business tool. It does not take deposits, offer real-money play or pay out winnings.

2. Accounts

3. Your content

You keep all rights in the games, files, text and images you upload ("your content"). You give us a limited licence to host, copy, scan, test and display it, and to pass it to reviewers, only as needed to run the Service and the review you request. You promise you have the rights to upload it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or contain malware.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to break the law, attack or probe it or other people's systems, upload harmful code, scrape it, bypass its limits or access controls, interfere with other users, or use test links to mislead people into thinking they are playing for real money. The sandbox forced-outcome tools are for testing your own games only.

5. Certification and review

Submitting a game for review does not guarantee approval. Wizards staff review it against a checklist, a second staff member gives the final approval, and we may ask for changes or refuse a submission. Approval is not legal or regulatory advice and does not replace any certification or licence an operator or regulator requires.

6. Commercial terms

Fees, revenue share, payouts and other commercial terms are set out in the publisher agreement you accept in the Service, which prevails over these terms where they differ.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but it is provided "as is" and may change, pause for maintenance or be withdrawn. We may update these terms; we will change the date above and tell signed-in users about changes that matter. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.

8. Suspension and ending

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or put the Service or others at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as your content licence for work already under review, and the limits below) do.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost data arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
